L'histoire à mourir de rire d'une famille punjabi dysfonctionnelle, et le quotidien sous tension d'une maison de banlieue mitoyenne à Slough. Simmy, tout juste arrivée d'Inde, Simmy doit épouser le fils aîné de la famille, Raj. Scandale, celui-ci s’enfuit, la laissant cloîtrée avec sa belle-mère. Cependant, Simmy obtient rapidement le soutien de sa belle-famille mécontente, notamment du grand-père diabétique, féru de sucreries, et de son beau-frère récemment sorti de prison, aussi dangereux que séduisant. Tous vont planifier la grande évasion de Simmy.
A laugh-out-loud story of a dysfunctional Punjabi family in the pressure cooker life of a terraced suburban home in Slough. Newly arrived from India, Simmy has come to marry the family’s eldest son Raj, who shockingly runs off, leaving Simmy locked in the house by her mother-in-law. However, Simmy soon enlists the support of the family’s disgruntled in-laws, including a sugar crazed, diabetic grandpa and dangerous, but hot, brother in law, fresh out of jail to plan Simmy’s big escape.
