This whimsical scene celebrates creative freedom and boldness, paying tribute to everyone \u2014whether behind the scenes or in the spotlight\u2014 who brings cinema to life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Blending humor, poetry, and whimsy, this poster invites you on a journey and celebrates the ties uniting Brittany with British and Irish cultures in a spirit of freedom, creativity, and sharing. Amira Casar, Jury President <\/strong>
The Dinard British and Irish Film Festival, taking place from October 7 to 11, is pleased to announce that actress Amira Casar will preside over the jury for this 37th edition.
Multidisciplinary polyglot actress, Amira Casar grew up between England, Ireland, and France and studied at the Conservatoire national sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019art dramatique.
She has appeared in over 80 films. Following Would I Lie to You? (C\u00e9sar nomination), she has worked with major directors including the Quay Brothers, Catherine Breillat (Anatomie de l\u2019enfer), Carlos Saura, Bertrand Bonello (Saint Laurent), and Luca Guadagnino (Call Me by Your Name, winner of the Oscar for <\/em>Best Screenplay).
More recent projects include Sarah Bernhardt, la divine (2024), Honeyjoon <\/em>(Tribeca Festival award winner, 2025), and La F\u00eate sauvage (2026). A lover of the arts, she was named Best Actress at the La Rochelle Festival for her portrayal of Dora Maar in La femme qui pleure au chapeau rouge and has acted in several international series, including Versailles, Rebecca Zlotowski\u2019s Les Sauvages, A Small Light (Disney+), and La Maison (Apple TV). <\/em>
In theater and opera, she has performed on major stages, notably taking on title roles such as Joan of Arc (Jeanne d\u2019Arc au b\u00fbcher), Medea, Persephone, and Hedda Gabler. In 2015, she won the Acad\u00e9mie Charles Cros Best Actress Award for the audiobook version of Alice Munro\u2019s (Trop de bonheur), and in 2016, she was named a Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres.
Major festivals have invited her to serve on their juries\u2014including the Critics’ Week at Cannes in 2019\u2014or to present her films.
