Celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Welsh actor Richard Burton<\/strong>! On this occasion, the festival has decided to honour his memory by screening two of his films:<\/p>\n\n\n\n


“Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?<\/strong>“, directed by Mike Nichols & “1984<\/strong>“, directed by Michael Radford<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are two classics starring Richard Burton, eminent Welsh actor born in 1925. Actor on stage and on screen, he took part in numerous theatrical productions before getting his first role in the 1940s. He received his first Oscar nomination in 1952 for his role in “My cousin Rachel”. After this great success, Burton returned to the stage for a while before landing a role in “Cleopatra”, a film that launched his career and led to a number of films that have gone down in history as cinematic classics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?<\/strong>“, directed by Mike Nichols – Screening at 5pm (running time: 2 hours 5 mins) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“1984<\/strong>“, directed by Michael Radford – Screening at 7.30pm (running time: 2 hours)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The films will be shown in the room Petite Ourse in the original version with French subtitles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
